I totally agree with you but I cannot remember if I translated the data to network byte order before transmission or not. This would be a good item for the To-Do List forum - one of these day ...

Yes, the forecast icon and rule are Vantage Pro specific and the simulator does not simulate station-specific data.

Well, I have the same setup as you for my system other than my console is *wired*, not wireless.

In /etc/wview/wview.conf:
STATION_INTERFACE=serial
STATION_DEV=/dev/cuaa0

Yes, and the same is true for ET if you have the Radiation sensor. Rain and ET are cumulative quantities as opposed to discrete measurements.
