I have been using different software on a PC, and I'm anxious to switch to wview on my linux box. Two questions about features that I'd miss, and a third about hardware. I wonder if they're possible here, either with a moderate amount of coding (which I might get ambitious enough to do) or maybe they already work.
First, and most importantly, the sw picks up data points that it may have missed and logs them when it starts up. In other words, when the system comes up, it checks its log against the system time and, if it's missed up to a week or so of data, it gets it from the Vantage Pro which buffers it, then adds it to weather log and graphs. Does/can wview do this?
Secondly, I've been using a polar graph for wind on my site, which pops up a data point for each direction/velocity the wind has been at in the last 24 hours. Can I do anything like it in wview? It looks like this:
Finally, I use a Lantronix UDS-100 serial-ethernet server to connect my Vantage Pro. Has anyone tried this, to see if it's compatible with the Lantronix MSS that's already supported?
Thanks in advance for any help. |

Yes, wview synchronizes to the VP console log records, from the last one stored by wview to the latest.
You could do anything with the wind dial if you want to hack the code.
No idea on the UDS-100 - it should work - use the MSS instructions as a guide.
