I've been unable to determine thus far by looking at the code whether the data feeds being output by wvalarmd to registered clients are always big-endian, always little-endian, or dependent on the endian-ness of the host machine. I have a situation where I'm hosting wview on a PowerPC Mac and want push the data to both PowerPC and Intel Mac clients. Since the data feed is a network function, the packets really should be network order (big-endian). Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Alan,

I totally agree with you but I cannot remember if I translated the data to network byte order before transmission or not. This would be a good item for the To-Do List forum - one of these days I will get back to work on wview!
