Folks,
since I installed 3.1.4 I've had problems when power is interrupted to the VP data logger, but not to my Linux server. I've been bouncing the power to all my network gear every morning to combat the effects of the Blaster worm (yeah, its still around). The logger was plugged into the same circuit.
Since installing 3.1.4, when the power goes out for 60 seconds I get this error:
wviewd[32116]: <2170257599> : vproReadRecoverState: max retries attempted - giving up!
CWOP and WU reporting stops, and don't recover till I restart the daemons. Data continues to be recorded, and graphs generated appear to have complete data.
When I interrupted power for a few seconds to move the logger to an unswitched circuit I got this message:
wviewd[8179]: <2195559560> : vproRunState: WAKEUP failed
The same CWOP and WU symptoms followed.
Any thoughts?
Thank you.

Hi Bruce
Apologies if this is a stupid question, but does your datalogger have backup batteries in it? And if there are batteries, are they any good?

Not a stupid question. I'd forgotten that it had batteries.
In any event, this is one more reason why this is probably a non-issue. I've already moved it to a UPS, and added a deamon auto-restart script. So, never-mind!
