|
|
URL: http://www.wviewweather.com
Disposition: Recommended
3.2.0 03-05-2006
--------------------
radlib version required: 2.6.2 or newer
1) Added more logic to handle system time changes with respect
to archive record generation. Also enhanced html generator
to better handle missing archive records.
2) Added endian conversion utilities for WLK and sensor archive
files: arc_be2le and arc_le2be. These utilities will convert
all WLK and sensor store files in a given source directory
then store the results in a given destination directory. The
conversions are Big Endian to Little Endian and Little
Endian to Big Endian respectively and can be run from either
a big or little endian system.
3) Added weekly historical chart support. Added image
definitions in the three images config files. Added new HTML
templates for Weekly and Weekly_Plus. Added references to
the new weekly pages in the other template navigation
bars. Added reference to the weekly page in the home page
templates. You will need a full template and config file
upgrade to properly deploy weekly charts (make install-env).
4) Fixed SuSE wview start script radmrouted invocation.
5) Added generic ".[your_ext]x" => ".[your_ext]" template file
generation support. Any template file with extension ending
in 'x' will be generated without the trailing 'x'. Thus,
example.phpx is generated as example.php.
Note: wview will search for tags in these templates and
replace them without any regard for a particular
file/scripting syntax.
6) Added archive retrieval retry logic to the VP station
interface to address VP consoles which do not have a record
ready when it should be. |

Awesome!
Once again... an upgrade that delivers more than was asked for!
Thanks Mark.

Many thanks Mark ! That's the only point I was missing with wview.
Much appreciated.
Cheers

Hi,
I've detected a potential problem for those who are using last week baro graphs and non imperial units.
Look at the display of this chart :
Y axis units are displaying only the last digits plus .5 decimal instead of
full value (ie : '98.5' instead of '998.5').
It is a very minor problem though

The problem is only in the images-metric.conf and images-metric-mm.conf files:
Find the line:
Quote: | baromweek.png "Barometer (Hourly Avg)" mb 1 123 |
and change the "1" to a "0" in the next to last column. This sets decimal places to 0.
Then do a: kill -s HUP `cat /var/wview/htmlgend.pid` to re-read the config files.

Will this enable me to convert 7 months worth of Weatherlink 5.0.2 (for Mac) .WLK data also?! If so, can you give me a brief tutorial on getting the script to work, if not, anyone out there willing to translate the data for me by importing it into the Weatherlink Windows version and sending it back?! (Files are only 52Kb each).

The best I can tell (and I might be wrong) you need to:
1) Use arc_be2le on your older WLK files - this will produce little endian files
2) Use a newer version of Weatherlink for Windows to import the old format files and convert to newer format
3) Use arc_le2be on the new format files - producing big endian files
4) move these to your /var/wview/archive directory
So all you need is a newer version of Weatherlink (for Winblows) (or a volunteer!)...

I've got Weatherlink 5.5.1 if that would do it. |

This went pretty well and Paul now has his old data from WeatherLink.
I followed Mark's suggestion above except that it turned out that the Mac files were already in little-endian format, so Step 1 wasn't needed. |
