First let me say thanks for an excellent piece of software. I was unwilling to stand up a windows box just for this task, so I was extremely happy to find this package. I owe you a beer! Very Happy

I am currently using wview with a Lantronix serial port server. All works fine until a power outage and the Lantronix server "reboots". This has the effect of wedging ther serial port on the Davis VP2 console. To clear the problem, I must disconnect he VP2 from the serial server and reboot both. I have set the Lantronix server to the settings required in the wview manual, but those settings are for teh server. I have enclosed the serial port settings ( show ports command ) I am using. Hopefully someone can show me where I have misconfigured the device.

Thanks in advance, and thanks again for a great program.

I would definitely turn OFF DSR and DTR (they are currently on).

Fundamentally, an inexpensive UPS for the serial server might be the best solution.

I'll take a Shiner Wink ...

Thanks for the responce Mark.

After some searching thru the Lantronix docs and playing with the server I was unable to find any settings to control DTR/DSR. What I did come across was the following command:

change access remote

The docs state to use this command when the lantronix box is connected to a device that will be generating data

Limited testing of this setting seems to work. I wanted to backfeed this info to you in case you wish to add it to the docs, but I would encourage more rigorus testing.

Shiner beers look interesting. Prior to your comment I have never heard of them, and I drink a fair amount of beer. Sadly there are no distrubutors in Massachusetts, but since I travel for work I will have one when I am in the SouthWest sometime. I do come to Dallas from time to time... maybe I can payup then Smile 1554 from New Belgium Brewing in CO is one of my "local" favorites.

Many thanks.
