I have ditched weatherlink and the PC it was running on. After just a few days, I am already a HUGE fan of wview!! Am now running on OpenSlug with wview 3.1.2 (www.taengle.net/weather). When checking my data at CWOP, I see the Barometer is way off - have seen the forum entries and understand that there is a delay for them to sync up with the change in reporting. What is that delay and is there a way to force it to occur sooner?
Secondly, when looking at http://weather.gladstonefamily.net/cgi-bin/wxsite.pl?site=c4438 I see this:
Unknown station type/software: .wview312
Is this expected? |

You can report to CWOP that wview now submits station pressure instead of sea-level pressure. It has already been reported to them by several of us.
I have no idea about the unknown station type jazz. I wonder what it says for a WL or Weatherdisplay station?
FYI, you should upgrade via ipkg to 3.1.3 when you get a chance. The newest ipkgs are in the ipkg repository now.
Glad you like wview!

I just got this reply from Philip Gladstone:
There was a misunderstanding when the developer read the documentation
-- the actual pressure that that should be reported is actually the
altimeter pressure -- which is the station pressure adjusted for
altitude only (and not for temperature).
I suspect that a new version of wview will be out shortly that fixes
this problem.

Although I originally received the Station Pressure indication from a well-placed CWOP authority, I will take the hit for this
Please see the 3.1.4 release announcement in this forum or via the web site or mailing list announcement.
I'm not sure why I didn't get notified of this directly, but I didn't notify Mr. Gladstone either...
