Just saw in one of the other posts about "setting DST to manual". Didn't find a mention in the user manual about that one. Since I have an existing console I never ran your vpconfig program. Now that I know that, I can change it, but what would have been the net effect of not doing that ? |

A bit of time stamp confusion on an archive record or two around 2 AM on the days DST goes into effect or goes out of effect. wview checks system time each time a new archive record is received to see if the wview host system time has been changed for DST. If it has, wview will re-initialize the history data used to generate graphs and print out a message log. It will also immediately update the time on the Vantage Pro console.
As with the approach to time synchronization and ntp, wview uses the wview host system clock as the clock of record, including for DST. |

As of the 1.8.2 release, wview will now maintain time and timezone/GMT offset/DST settings in the VP console, thus requiring no user configuration of timezone or DST on the VP console itself.
It is very important that the timezone and DST settings on the wview host are correct. It also remains important that the wview host system time be kept accurate with some form of NTP...
