I have downloaded wview to use with my Vantage Pro 2 station, but it looks awfully complicated to install. Do I need to know something about programming on my mac? I use OSX (Tiger), but I've never gotten into the Console. Isn't there a simple way to install? |

Have you looked at the wview-Quick-Start-MacOSX.html file in the distro? This gives a synopsis of what is required.

If you mean a "drag to the desktop and double click it" way, then the answer is a resounding "no". This is free software and I don't have the time to create a GUI install and configuration interface. Besides, it would have to be X windows/QT based, not aqua. wview is used on all forms of unix - linux, BSD, darwin. That would require you to install and run X-windows and QT via DarwinPorts, which may be too complicated also.
If the instructions in wview-Quick-Start-MacOSX.html look too complicated, I would suggest wview may not be for you.

Hi Mark; Have you ever looked into using Applescript to install the wview app on a Mac? The more I read into the config files and manual, I see that you are a serious programmer that has put a significant amount of work into this. http://www.apple.com/applescript/terminal/ may make it more accessible to non-programmers (like me).
