I've udpated the CSS stylesheet somewhat for the templates... refined it a little.. it should now display slightly more consistently between IE and Firefox (I've specified a better font.. and specified font-size and line-height to force all browsers to act the same).
I've also run the code through an optimizer that strips out unneccessary whitespace (though comments as well!), combines rules where possible, and eliminates redundant rules...
the CSS file is now 29% smaller.. which should make a difference for people on dialup.
If you're really into it... you can shrink the CSS even further (taking 40% off the original file size... by going to this site:
http://flumpcakes.co.uk/css/optimiser/
and unclicking the "Pretty Print" option... it takes out all the unnecessary whitepace... it's very difficult to edit after that though.
DO NOT try to use Borders and Styles groupings... they definitely do not work well for my stylesheet....
You can download the latest stylesheet at:
http://www.alberniweather.ca/weatherstyletemp.css
You don't need to make any changes to the templates for the changes to take effect... but if you *have* made changes to the templates to suit your site, make sure you backup your original CSS file first... and then test your site with the new CSS file. |
